Position Summary: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), provide care to patients, under the supervision of registered nurses, by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), monitoring patient vital signs, reporting any changes in condition, performing EKGs, applying durable medical equipment, stocking supplies, charting in the electronic health record (EHR) and maintaining a clean and safe environment for patients. Requirements

  • High School Education or GED required.
  • Registered with the State of Nebraska as CNA required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
  • 1+ year customer service work preferred, in a health care setting required.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred and the ability to demonstrate effective communication skills.
  • Understanding of medical terminology, critical thinking for quick decision making, and detail oriented while maintaining a calm bedside manner.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and support patients as well as team members.
  • Ability to flex and meet departmental needs when required.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Nurse Assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic patient care functions by complying with established protocols, policies, procedures and standards based on individual patient needs under the direction of licensed nursing personnel to ensure quality patient care
  • Interact with patients and other health care professionals utilizing appropriate communication skills so that efficiency, productivity, and quality of care are enhanced.
  • Perform clerical tasks and patient registration activities to ensure efficient workflow in the unit.
  • Must be able to work from detailed verbal or written instructions and use judgment for routine situations.
  • Maintain patient medical records by following correct procedures to ensure accurate and timely availability of patient information while protecting sensitive patient information.
  • Perform supply inventory tasks to ensure successful operation of the unit.
  • Comply with safety activities, policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements such as OSHA and The Joint Commission.
  • Employee is responsible for all other duties assigned for which competency has been demonstrated.
