About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, and committed Certified Nursing Assistant who will work under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The CNA is responsible for providing and assisting participants of our Transitional Housing Program with activities of daily living, restorative, and supportive care. The CNA will also monitor health status and provide a safe residential environment for our clients. Compensation Range The base pay range for this position is $19.21 to $22.60 per hour.

Requirements

  • Must have an active California-issued certification or license as a Nursing Assistant
  • Have a CPR or BLS Certification, and at least 6 months of experience as a CNA, preferably in a residential setting and must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to work with a diverse population
  • Ability to bend and lift light objects
  • Ability to sit for extended periods of time while viewing a computer monitor
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard
  • Capable of hearing and speaking to exchange information
  • Seeing to read reports and data
  • Ability to speak English
  • Must be able to work in a noisy, busy environment.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures clients receive appropriate food diet coordinating with the kitchen and Case Manager
  • Assists clients to sign up with a meal service such as meals on wheels.
  • Educates clients regarding proper nutrition.
  • Observe and document the clients who attend meals in the kitchen, the amount the clients eat
  • Records vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature and respiration rate, pain level as requested by nurse/supervisor or as needed
  • Observes and reports when clients have bruises, open wounds including complaints of physical symptoms or changes in behavior.
  • Aids with physician-ordered medications which are ordinarily self-administered under the direction of the client’s doctor and supervision of a Registered Nurse.
  • Tracks prescription and over the counter medications daily
  • Assists clients with ordering refills as needed, as well removing old and expired medications
  • Records a daily worksheet for each client and provides it to the registered nurse daily
  • Assists clients’ with getting to the doctor and picking up pharmacy medication
  • Completes temperature logs
  • Performs light housekeeping duties
  • Assists clients with laundry as needed
  • Keeps accurate daily client record charts
  • Assists with personal care, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, toileting, ambulation, transfers or positioning of the patient
  • Delivers meals to clients on Monday Tuesday
  • Monitors U.S. mail for clients
  • Assists with packing clients’ belongings upon move out as needed
  • Writes incident report and alerts the nurse.
  • Calls 911 for emergencies, Perform random urinalysis tests on our clients
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
