Requirements

  • Must possess, as a minimum, a 10th grade education.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) in accordance with state laws.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Compassionate, dependable, and committed to providing quality resident care.
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift.

Nice To Haves

  • Current CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Identify residents before providing care or treatments using wristbands or photo cards.
  • Report all changes in resident condition, incidents, or accidents to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse promptly.
  • Record resident care, observations, and activities accurately on charts and flow sheets.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all resident care information, including protected health information.
  • Assist residents with daily personal care needs including bathing, grooming, dressing, dental care, and toileting.
  • Ensure residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently and that call lights are answered promptly.
  • Assist with resident mobility including lifting, turning, moving, positioning, and transporting residents.
  • Provide restorative and rehabilitative care as instructed.
  • Maintain clean and organized resident rooms and ensure comfort and dignity of residents at all times.
  • Observe and report signs of pressure injuries or skin breakdowns immediately.
  • Assist with meal service—help residents with food identification, feeding, and recording intake.
  • Follow all infection control and safety procedures.
  • Support residents emotionally and create a warm, friendly, and calm environment.
  • Report all allegations of abuse, neglect, or misappropriation of resident property immediately.
  • Uphold residents’ rights, including their right to refuse treatment, and report such refusals appropriately.
