Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA/PCT) 3, 12-hour shifts per week 7A-730P Must be available to work weekends and holidays The Behavioral Health Unit (BHU) is a secured, therapeutic inpatient setting that provides short-term, intensive psychiatric care to patients experiencing acute mental health crises. The unit is staffed by a multidisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, social workers, therapists, and behavioral health technicians, who collaborate to develop individualized treatment plans. Job Description: Under the direction of a Registered Nurse (RN) or other licensed care team member, the behavioral health (BH) Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides routine, direct patient care within their scope of practice to assist medical and nursing personnel in the examination, treatment, and care of patients. The BH CNA has knowledge, training and skill sets specific to populations of people with mental health and substance use diagnoses. Assessment and identification of patient needs and implementation of appropriate interventions considering the needs of patient populations per department scope of service. Delegation of nursing care activities and provisions of supervision; establishes and maintains a plan for the delivery of nursing care; assures that nursing care interventions and activities are directed to resolve problems; and performs technical aspects of care competently. Has access to medication storage areas as required for job tasks. Follows Hospital and Departmental Policies and Procedures.
