About The Position

We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our care team at the Alzheimer’s Care Center in Gardiner. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to provide meaningful, person-centered care to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and related dementias, supporting both their physical and emotional well-being. Requirements

  • Valid State of Maine CNA certification or ability to obtain one within 120 days of hire
  • A genuine passion for caring for older adults and individuals with memory loss
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A positive attitude and a team-oriented mindset

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic patient care activities of daily living as delegated and supervised by an RN.
  • Ensures the social, emotional, and recreational well-being of residents by participating in 1:1 and group activity-focused care programs in cooperation with the Director of Activities.
  • Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
  • Greets patients and visitors.
  • Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
  • Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested
  • Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff
  • Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly
