Fairview Commons Nursing & Rehabilitation Center has been part of the Great Barrington community for more than 40 years, providing short-term rehabilitation and long-term skilled nursing care in The Berkshires. Nestled in a hill in a quiet residential setting, all of our rooms overlook blooming greenery with either the surrounding woods or our well-maintained patios.

Responsibilities

  • Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promotes their rights, dignity, freedom of choice, and individuality.
  • Demonstrate respect, attention, and awareness toward the diversity among the people we serve (residents, families, caregivers, etc.) through their attitude, service, and actions.
  • Be knowledgeable of the individualized care plan for residents and provide support to the resident in accordance with their care plan.
  • Identify and participate in QAPI process or leave as area of development.
  • Assist in daily requirements and tasks in care and treatment of residents, including bathroom assistance, general personal hygiene, dressing, mobility assistance, and food intake.
  • Maintain resident rights and confidentiality.
  • Document all ADLs in electronic health record.
  • Observe and report symptoms, reactions, and other changes in condition promptly.
  • Routinely turn and position residents as required by care plan.
  • Comply with all aspects of residents' rights and report any incidents or evidence of resident abuse or violations of resident rights to the charge nurse or administration.
  • Honor resident right to refuse care and report such refusal to nurse supervisor.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, neat, and clean environment.
  • Answer resident call bells promptly and courteously.
  • Ensure that residents who are unable to call for help are checked frequently.
  • Take and document temperature, pulse, respiration rates, food and fluid intake and output, and heights and weights in EHR.
  • Ambulate and transfer residents using the appropriate assistive devices and body mechanics.
  • Use only the equipment you have been trained to use, operate in a safer manner, and report any defective equipment to supervisor immediately.
  • Communicate and interact effectively and tactfully with residents, visitors, families, peers, and supervisors.
  • Assist and escort residents to appointments such as the hair salon or attending activities, church services, or doctor's appointments.

Requirements

  • Must have a current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Massachusetts.
