About The Position

We are a 30 bed unit serving many medical patient populations. Our focus is oncology (from new diagnosis to end of life), respiratory diseases, congestive heart failure, and end of life/hospice. Our nurses are trained and certified to administer chemotherapy and other cancer treatments for inpatients. We have a mix of experienced and new graduate nurses who demonstrate great teamwork to provide those we serve with high quality, compassionate care. This position is responsible for providing assistance with patient care activities and non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of the RN and in cooperation with other nursing staff. This position requires providing services to one or more age populations, including adult through geriatric, in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served.

Requirements

• CNA certification in good standing on the state Nurse Aide Registry.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent; or be at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• For PCA, SNA: Must have completed one of the following: Patient Care Experience, Completed a C.N.A. Program, or Completed at least sophomore year of a nursing program.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with patient care activities under the supervision of the RN.
• Assist with non-nursing tasks as required.
• Demonstrate understanding of the functional/developmental age of patients served.
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff to ensure high quality care.
