About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position involves providing direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse. The role emphasizes excellence in patient care while respecting individual dignity and uniqueness, with a focus on empathy, communication, and teamwork in the nurse-patient relationship.

Requirements

• Current Kentucky Nurse Aide Certification required or successful completion of first year of a Nursing program and validation of a clinical rotation consistent with level of education.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (must be obtained within three months of hire).

Responsibilities

• Assists patients in personal hygiene activities such as bathing, dental and oral care, hair, and nail care.
• Assists patients with bowel and bladder functions while maintaining dignity.
• Records patient intake and output (I & O).
• Collects, labels, and transports specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Changes and transports soiled and contaminated linens according to procedure.
• Maintains clean and tidy patient room/environment.
• Assists patients with activity, turning and repositioning as indicated by provider order and in collaboration with the nurse.
• Communicates pertinent patient information/findings to the patient's nurse.
• Sets priorities for the care of multiple patients.
