About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position is located in a fast-paced environment within the Hospitalists General Medicine/Observation Unit, where a wide range of patients are seen, including those with chest pain, outpatient surgical procedures, respiratory illnesses, and general medicine patients. The medical management of Observation Patients requires that all tests and procedures are completed within 24 hours, contributing to the fast-paced nature of the job. The role involves caring for mostly ambulatory and independent patients, making it ideal for those who enjoy variety in their daily tasks. The position requires active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital and demonstrating behavior consistent with the Core Values while supporting the strategic plan and goals of the Performance Improvement Process and Patient Safety Plan.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent; or be at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.) or have completed a C.N.A. Program or at least sophomore year of a nursing program for PCA, SNA.
• Certified Nursing Assistant certification in good standing on the state Nurse Aide Registry.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance with patient care activities and non-nursing tasks under the direct supervision of the RN.
• Demonstrate understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individuals served.
• Participate in fulfilling the Mission of Blessing Hospital.
• Support the strategic plan, goals, and direction of the Performance Improvement Process and Patient Safety Plan.
