About The Position

Maine Medical Center Nursing/Clinical Support Req #: 58845 Per Diem Unit Bio: P6 (Pavilion 6) is the 21 bed Inpatient Psychiatry unit at Maine Medical Center. Over the years it has evolved from a traditional psychiatric unit to one that serves an increasingly medically complex population with a particular emphasis on Geriatric Psychiatry. All patients on P6 have both a major psychiatric illness, as well as a medical comorbidity that requires an inpatient level of care. We are excited to grow our interdisciplinary team and welcome all applicants from those new to Psychiatry, to those who have many years of experience. Position Summary: Under the supervision of a Registered Professional Nurses and according to defined policies and procedures, performs various service duties and technical tasks such as taking vital signs and assisting patients with basic hygiene and activities of daily living. Specific duties may vary by area of assignment. Consideration of the special needs and behaviors of specific patient populations is required.

Requirements

  • Education: Participates in continuing education relative to role as defined.
  • License/Certifications: Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant by the State of Maine and be on the State of Maine Registry, having completed a six-week or equivalent course.
  • Experience: CNAA experience 0-6 months. On-the-job training provided.
