The Clinical Resource Unit (CRU) is the internal float pool, consisting of direct care staff who work on various inpatient units. CNAs float to all inpatient units and the EDTC. CRU nursing assistants are often assigned to sitter patients. This role performs as a Nursing Assistant within the care management team under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse, performing delegated nursing tasks for which competence is demonstrated through the Nursing Assistant skills checklist.

Requirements

  • Currently registered with the State of Wisconsin Registry for Nursing Assistants to be eligible for employment in the basic provider settings
  • Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart or American Red Cross is required
  • High School diploma or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
  • Exhibits guiding behaviors that reflect Children’s values and support our mission and vision
  • Possesses and competently demonstrates core Nursing Assistant skills as outlined in the skill competency checklist and understands the role of performing delegated tasks
  • Possesses a willingness and the initiative to successfully complete educational requirements while developing and learning new skills as required by the unit
  • Possesses effective interpersonal and communication skills necessary to interact courteously and tactfully with patients, parents/families and members of the health care team
  • Possesses rudimentary assessment and analytical skills in order to perform basic patient observations
  • Must be able to attend central orientation on June 8th, 9th, 11th, and 25th from 8:00am-4:30pm with no exceptions
