About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at Pine Glen Elementary School involves providing dedicated support to medically fragile students during the school day and extended programs. The role focuses on meeting the physical, emotional, and healthcare needs of students, ensuring they can fully engage in their educational opportunities. The CNA will work closely with the school nurse and other educational staff to implement individual health care plans and assist with personal care and educational activities.

Requirements

• Graduate of a Certified Nursing Assistant Program
• Current certification as CNA
• Current CPR and Basic First Aid certification
• 1-3 years experience in pediatrics, community health, education or related field
• Familiar with use of computers and related technology

Responsibilities

• Provides personal care assistance and supervision for students, including dressing, toileting, grooming, feeding, and positioning.
• Assists with the student's educational program as directed by the classroom teacher or therapist, including using adaptive equipment and scribing for the student.
• Collaborates with the school nurse, students, faculty, and staff, including building administration and parents/guardians.
• Implements individual health care plans for assigned students in collaboration with the school nurse and parents/guardians.
• Maintains confidentiality of student information and health records.
• Provides emergency care in cases of injury or sudden illness, limited to Basic First Aid, and notifies the school nurse immediately.
• Documents Basic First Aid and illness care provided to students and completes accident/incident reports as needed.
• Maintains and cleans students' personal equipment and supplies.
• Identifies health and safety hazards in the classroom and reports concerns to the school nurse.
• Assists the school nurse with student health screenings and follows building emergency plans.

Benefits
