About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) position at CMH Ojai SNF involves performing resident/patient care activities and related services necessary for the personal needs, safety, and comfort of residents/patients. The role requires assisting in providing a positive physical, social, and psychological environment. The CNA II must relate positively and effectively with residents/patients, families, community members, volunteers, and other facility staff. Successful candidates will have strong problem-solving skills and value collaboration and teamwork. This position requires an in-depth understanding of patient care policies and regulations, particularly for elderly patients and those with special needs.

Requirements

• Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• High school Diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Six (6) months of CNA experience in an acute care setting or skilled nursing facility.

Responsibilities

• Assists with resident/patient care needs including oral hygiene, bathing, dressing, nail care, shaving, and hair care.
• Assists with lifting, turning, positioning, and transporting residents.
• Maintains cleanliness and comfort for residents by changing soiled clothing and linens.
• Measures and records vital signs and weights of residents/patients.
• Collects specimens and prepares and administers enemas.
• Provides daily care for indwelling catheters and performs diabetic urine testing.
• Turns bedfast residents/patients every two hours and provides range of motion exercises.
• Prepares residents/patients for meals and assists with feeding as needed.
• Records food and fluid intake and serves snacks.
• Keeps nursing and resident/patient care areas neat and sanitary.
