About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse assigned, performs a variety of direct patient care activities in caring for the personal needs and comforts of the patient. Provides care that addresses the specific needs of age groups from infant to elderly as well as accommodating a variety of needs specific to impairments such as hearing, sight, substance abuse, language barriers, and potential victims of abuse. Incorporates knowledge and understanding of our commitment to patient rights, exceptional care and the hospital's values and mission into his/her performance of job duties. Maintains patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• One year experience as a nursing assistant preferred.
• Must possess a valid Massachusetts Certified Nursing Assistant license or proof of enrollment in an accredited nursing school.
• Knowledge of medical terminology is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English with staff and patients is required.
• Must be able to prioritize multiple requests to ensure timeliness and provide exceptional patient care.
• Must possess skills to be compassionate, empathetic, and responsive to the needs of a variety of patients.

Nice To Haves

• Computer experience is preferred.
