Classification: Temporary Part-time/Full-time - Hourly Position Job Description The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) is responsible for assisting the patient with activities of daily living (ADL); including bathing, feeding, dressing, and ambulating. Also includes laundry/housekeeping duties and for coordinating, overseeing, and participating in all clinical and day-to-day care delivered to the patient. Classification: Temporary Part-time/Full-time-Hourly Position Location: Los Angeles CA Pay Range: 20-22 Shift: 4-5 days/weekly, 8 hr shifts

Requirements

  • Active and current Basic Life Skills (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR

Responsibilities

  • Assists patients in the following areas: Bathing (bed, tub, shower, or sponge bath)
  • Skin Care
  • Toileting (bedpan, urinal, commode and/or toilet)
  • Grooming (shampoo, nail care & shaving)
  • Oral Hygiene (denture care)
  • Assist with dressing and undressing
  • Assists with feeding of patients.
  • Measuring and recording intake and output.
  • Weigh patient using upright, chair and bed scale.
  • Assists in turning and positioning of patients.
  • Proper transfer techniques.
  • Demonstrates appropriate knowledge for safe use of medical equipment rails, brace, splints, oxygen).
  • Intervention such as taking vital signs-manual and automatic, temperature, weight, ensuring infection control, monitoring nutritional intake and conducting specimen collection.
  • Provide assistance to patients with ADLs.
  • ADLs include personal hygiene and other skills necessary for independent living.
  • They may also perform these tasks for patients if they are unable to do so.
  • Provide patient-directed services that honor individual lifestyles and preferences.
  • Alert the Administrator to problems of policy, performance and customer service.
  • Perform other duties as required, within your scope of practice.
  • Help patients by supporting personal hygiene and daily living needs; providing comfort, transportation, and vital sign monitoring.
  • Provides patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, showers, backrubs, shampoos, shaves, oral/denture care; assisting with travel to the bathroom.
  • Provides for activities of daily living by serving meals, feeding patients as necessary; ambulating, turning, and positioning patients; providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Maintains patient stability by checking vital signs and weight; testing urine; recording intake and output information.
  • Provides patient comfort by utilizing resources and materials; transporting patients; answering patients' call lights and requests; reporting observations of the patient to RN/nursing supervisor.
  • Documents actions by completing forms, reports, logs, and records. (cane, crutches, walkers, Hoyer Lift, side
  • Maintains work operations by following policies and procedures.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping patient information confidential.
  • Serves and protects the Healthcare facility/healthcare community by adhering to professional standards, healthcare facilities policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and JCAHO standards.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; participating in professional organizations; maintaining licensure/certification.
  • Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers
  • Answer patient calls
  • Examine patients for bruises, blood in urine or other injuries/wounds and reporting to licensed personnel.
  • Clean and sanitize patient areas
  • Change bed sheets and restock rooms with necessary supplies
