The Certified Nurse Aide provides personal care and non‑personal care assistance to residents when there is a need. Assists residents so that independent living can be maintained for as long as appropriate and possible. Promotes independent living activities while giving assistance to a resident. PRINCIPLE DUTIES: 1. Takes vital signs as indicated. 2. Changes beds, gives showers or baths and assists with dressing. 3. Assists with escorts to the dining room, beauty shop, physical therapy, activities, etc. 4. Makes daily rounds to ill residents. 5. Keeps Supervisor informed of residents’ status. 6. Responds to all “Call for Aide” made to the Health Center. Other Duties: 1. Assists in monitoring medication compliance. 2. Assists the resident with tray service. 3. Assists with ongoing assessment of residents’ needs to promote independence. 4. Maintains accurate records of observations and services rendered to residents. 5. Assists the resident in making doctor’s appointments. 6. Attends weekly update meeting and Health Committee meetings. 7. Assists in counseling residents and/or families. 8. Attends in-service training and education session, as assigned. 9. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
