About The Position

Position Summary: Provide personalized, one-on-one care to residents in campus homes, assisting with activities of daily living, medication reminders, transportation, and companionship to support independence and well-being

Requirements

Active North Carolina CNA certification or working towards one.
First Aid/CPR Certified.
Need to have reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

One (1) year experience working as a CNA/PCA/HHA/RA preferred.
Experience in geriatrics preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 care in resident homes located on campus.
Promote independent living activities, provide quality assistance with activities of daily living to enable residents to maintain independent living for as long as appropriate and possible.
Assist with ADL’s, dressing/bathing, meal preparation and household tasks including light laundry, dishes and bed making. This can include pet care.
Assist with transportation, transfers or ambulation as resident’s condition warrants.
Assist members with making appointments as requested.
Provide reminders to take medication.
Facilitate exercise programs and encourage member to participate in campus activities.
Offer companionship for off campus excursions/appointments/shopping.
Observe and report changes in behavior/appearance to the RN immediately.
Performance of assigned tasks in emergency situations including fire, electrical and disasters.
Provide a compliant calendar of availability to the scheduling department by the 15th of every month containing all required elements to maintain PRN status.
