About The Position

The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive women’s healthcare with a focus on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, and gynecological services. The CNM practices in collaboration with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care across the lifespan. This role emphasizes education, prevention, and support to promote optimal health outcomes for women and newborns.

Requirements

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nurse Midwifery from an accredited program
  • Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) licensure in the state of practice
  • Current DEA certification (or eligibility)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • Minimum of 1–2 years of clinical experience preferred (new graduates may be considered)
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and assist during labor and delivery

Nice To Haves

  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred or required within a specified timeframe

Responsibilities

  • Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and newborn care
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, including health histories, physical exams, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Manage low- to moderate-risk pregnancies and identify complications requiring physician collaboration or referral
  • Perform routine gynecologic services, including annual exams, family planning, contraception management, and menopausal care
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory tests, imaging, and other diagnostic studies
  • Educate patients and families on pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, nutrition, and overall wellness
  • Provide counseling and support related to reproductive health, pregnancy options, and lifestyle modifications
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
  • Participate in on-call coverage and attend deliveries as required
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
  • Adhere to all clinical, regulatory, and organizational policies and procedures
