Provide initial and ongoing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment including prescriptive authority, hospital admission/management/discharge, and perform or assist with diagnostic and therapeutic medical procedures. Requirements

  • Master's degree required.
  • Graduate of ACNM-accredited Certified Nurse Midwifery Education Program required, along with completion of national board-certification in midwifery.
  • Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring required within one year of transfer or hire.
  • Ability to function with autonomy and able to make independent decisions while functioning as part of a comprehensive team required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in verbal and written forms required.
  • Ability to provide critical thinking and analytical skills required.
  • Efficient use of information systems, data processing systems, telecommunication devices, office equipment, and audiovisual teaching/education resources required.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow policy, procedure, guidelines, and protocols required.
  • Flexibility and dedication to team involvement and supporting organizational goals required.
  • Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nebraska or current compact state license required.
  • State of Nebraska midwifery license required.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of health care policy and societal factors affecting the delivery of care preferred.
  • Familiar with patient care equipment as appropriate to specialty area preferred.
  • Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) license preferred.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification preferred.

Responsibilities
