We are recruiting for the following position: Sea Mar is a mandatory COVID-19 and flu vaccine organization Position Summary The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) is part of a care team working to provide quality comprehensive services to Sea Mar patients. The CNM will work collaboratively with staff to provide team-based coordinated care.   • The CNM provides primary well woman, family planning, antepartum, intrapartum, post-partum, and newborn care services to patients of Sea Mar Community Health Center in accordance with training, experience and licensure, in compliance with the principles of practice of Sea Mar and its mission. The CNM will consult with an appropriate physician (family practice, OB/GYN, pediatrics, or other specialist) as needed when patients care needs arise outside the scope of his or her training.
  • The CNM will provide appropriate hospital care as required.
  • The CNM may refer patients to medical specialist or other sources of service when necessary.
  • The CNM prescribes and/or dispenses required medication to patients according to the individual prescriptive authority granted by the Washington State Board.
  • The CNM provides professional supervision to the assigned staff of nurses and other paraprofessionals.
  • The CNM participates in preventive health programs such as immunization, disease detection and disease prevention activities. Including education programs for patients and community groups in the service area.
  • The CNM works closely with administrative personnel including the Clinical and Medical Director, preparing reports, grant proposals and other administrative activities when appropriate.
  • High risk antepartum and intrapartum conditions would necessitate the CNM to initiate the process currently defined by the standards of the community.
  • Knowledge of and interest in the unique cultural aspects of the Hispanic people is needed.
  • Graduation from an accredited training program or an acceptable equivalent. Board Certified with appropriate Nursing Specialty Board.
  • Washington State license to practice medicine.
  • This position must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR within 90 days of hire date and is required to maintain current BLS CPR throughout employment.
  • Pre-hire and annual employee health screening required
  • Annual influenza vaccine required. Only exception is for employees with a medical or religious exemption approved by Administration. Employees with an approved medical or religious exemption must wear a mask at all time during the flu season.
  • Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred.
