About The Position

Our affiliate, Unified Women’s Healthcare of the Carolinas, is looking for a Full-Time Certified Nurse Midwife to join their Women's Health Care Center in Asheville, NC. Join a growing, collaborative group of physicians, certified nurse midwives, and women’s health nurse practitioners who provide a team approach to patient care within a supportive practice culture. Certified nurse midwife (CNM) is responsible for working closely with both gynecologic and obstetric patients, assisting in births, and providing health care to women post-pregnancy. The CNM will assist with prenatal care, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, and may also provide reproductive care, treatment, and education to female patients. Position Highlights: The practice has a team of 6 physicians, 1 certified nurse midwife, and 1 nurse practitioner Practice has a solid patient base and reputation that has been built up for over 30 years in the Asheville Metro area 2 days of clinic and 1 24-hour call shift per week. Average of 15-18 patients in a clinic day. Midwives typically perform 5-10 deliveries per month Strong work/life balance. Only on call 2 weekend shifts per month. Ability to build up own patient clinic practice within the group. Option to assist physicians with C-Section delivery procedures. Competitive salary and benefits package. Requirements

  • AMCB Certified Nurse-Midwife
  • Graduate of a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
  • Master's degree in Nursing (MS/MSN)
  • Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license
  • CPR and NALS Certification
  • Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
  • One year of full-time experience as a CNM is preferred
  • Labor & Delivery experience preferred
