About The Position

Works as an active participant in the workflow and practice environment that touches all aspects of patient care, including diagnosis, treatments, consultations and referral. This can be in both inpatient and outpatient situations and can perform independently or as part of a treatment team. This care includes pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum period, immediate care of the newborn following birth, family planning and gynecologic needs. Ensures coordination of care for the patient in collaboration with other Perinatal, Neonatal and Birth Center team members. Designed with families in mind, the center provides a safe, comfortable, and supportive experience throughout the birthing journey, ensuring exceptional care for both mother and baby. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Graduate from Accredited School of Nursing required
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire
  • BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support required within 180 Days
  • AMCB American Midwifery Certification Board upon hire required
  • Medium Work: Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or doctoral in nursing or related field preferred

Responsibilities

  • CNM group independently provides labor support, water birth and VBAC/TOLAC services
  • Midwifery collaborative support is provided by a supportive inhouse OB and maternal fetal medicine groups
  • We attend approximately 40-50 births per month with three affiliated clinics.
  • "Natural birth experience" highlighting nontraditional care in the hospital.
  • Follows standards for Nurse Midwifery Practice established by the American College of Nurse-Midwives and Minnesota statute.
  • Professional Liability insurance including tail
  • Practice details: 7 CNM's 2 days in clinic and 1:7 call
  • Midwife self-schedule
  • Collaborative, supportive and encouraging teammates
  • Opportunities for professional and personal growth- research, mentoring CNM and NP students, instrumental QI projects
  • Support whole person population health care initiatives
