About The Position

Our affiliate, Unified Women’s Healthcare of the Carolinas, is looking for a Full-Time Certified Nurse Midwife to join their Women's Health Care Center in Durham, NC. Join a growing, collaborative group of physicians, certified nurse midwives, and women’s health nurse practitioners who provide a team approach to patient care within a supportive practice culture. Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) will be responsible for full-scope practice including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and well-woman care. Shared 24/7 hospital coverage with our sister Unified practice in Chapel Hill. Position Highlights: Join an established and successful private practice that has served the Raleigh Metro area for over 80 years. The practice team includes 7 physicians, 4 certified nurse midwives, 1 nurse practitioner, and 1 physician assistant along with a great support staff. Office locations in Durham and Raleigh. Delivering hospital: Duke Regional Hospital. Certified nurse midwives in the practice typically work a 4-day schedule with a combination of call at the hospital and clinic in the office. Weekday call shifts are normally 12 hours and weekend call shifts can be 12- or 24-hour shifts. Responsible for completing about 10-15 deliveries per month. Document patient care in compliance with clinical and regulatory standards. Participate in quality improvement and educating patients in women’s healthcare. Strong work/life balance with a sustainable patient load. Physician and midwifery team committed to providing support and mentorship.

Requirements

  • AMCB Certified Nurse-Midwife
  • Graduate of a nurse-midwifery education program accredited by ACNM Accreditation
  • Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME)
  • Master's degree in nursing (MS/MSN)
  • Active and unrestricted state registered nurse (RN) license
  • Current Unrestricted DEA License or ability to obtain
  • 2 years of full-time Labor & Delivery experience necessary for new graduate applicants
