About The Position
The job uses best practices and knowledge of patients and exercises autonomous decision making in the assessment, diagnosis and initiation of delegated medical treatments. The scope of practice includes family support, discharge planning, staff education, consultation and research. The University of Chicago midwifery team is growing again. We are seeking a 6th full-time midwife to join our team and to expand midwifery service coverage to include weekends. We are committed to supporting low-risk pregnancies and births and understand that midwives are ideally suited for this work. We are working to make our midwifery program stronger and more accessible. We are looking for midwives with a vision, a voice, and a commitment to exceptional care.
