About The Position

University of Pittsburgh Physicians is hiring a Full-Time Midwife to help support their Magee-Womens Specialty Services Horizon offices in Farrell, Grove City, and Hermitage. This position will primarily be located in Farrell with regular travel to the other offices. The midwife will support 3-4 offices based on preference and staff needs, including Farrell, Grove City, Hermitage, and New Castle, and will also work at UPMC Horizon to support hospital needs. The position is in the Obstetrics and Gynecology department, with preferred midwifery experience and women’s health nursing/labor suite experience. The midwives deliver at UPMC Horizon Farrell, where they will perform call in a supportive setting alongside physicians. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, and supervision, establishing and maintaining collaborative relationships with healthcare providers, patients, and families.

Requirements

  • Midwife certification.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) OR Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
  • Act 31 Child Abuse Reporting clearance.
  • Act 33 clearance.
  • Act 34 clearance.
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance.
  • Eligibility for licensure by Pennsylvania board of nursing.
  • Eligibility for certification as a CNM by Pennsylvania state board of nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred midwifery experience.
  • Preferred women’s health nursing/labor suite experience.
