A nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. This role functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure, emphasizing health promotion, disease prevention, and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. The Certified Nurse Midwife III is also responsible for disseminating knowledge through instructing, leading, and developing educational programs. Key responsibilities include providing full scope of practice in an outpatient/inpatient clinic, such as offering all contraceptive forms (including IUDs and sub dermal implants), caring for women across the lifespan from menarche to beyond menopause, and providing full scope intrapartum care, including postpartum rounds and labor management. The position involves a progressive model of collaboration with physicians in both inpatient and outpatient settings and requires motivation to grow and develop professional interests.
