About The Position

White Oak Medical Center seeks to hire an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) for our Labor & Delivery Unit who will embrace our mission to extend God’s care through the ministry of physical, mental and spiritual healing. As a CNM, you will: Provide direct antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecologic patient services Apply surgical skills and knowledge required to act as first assist in the Operating Room Collaborate with physicians, support staff, and ancillary departments to provide quality patient care Perform history and physical examination in a timely manner Maintain role/specialty competencies as well as keeping current with changes in practice, i.e., new equipment, medications, treatment modalities. Actively participate in departmental peer review, staff meetings, in-service education and quality improvement processes.

Requirements

  • Current Maryland State Nursing license
  • Current Certification as a Nurse Midwife from the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or any other certifying body recognized by the Maryland Board of Nursing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate
  • Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certificate
  • Certification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of employment
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing
  • Master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery
  • Two to three years’ work experience in department specific areas
