About The Position

Requirements

  • Current and valid Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) certification recognized by Texas.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic knowledge of patient care and safety protocols.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening as required by the facility.
  • Physical capability to perform duties including lifting, standing for extended periods, and assisting patients.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working in a long-term care or rehabilitation facility.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Additional training or coursework in geriatric or rehabilitative care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure.
  • Support patient mobility by helping with transfers, ambulation, and positioning to prevent bedsores.
  • Provide nutritional support by assisting with feeding and ensuring patients receive proper hydration.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment by following infection control and safety procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding patient status, concerns, and changes in condition.
  • Document care provided and observations accurately in patient records in compliance with facility policies.
  • Offer emotional support and companionship to patients, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.
