About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) plays a vital role in providing compassionate and direct patient care within healthcare settings such as hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. Requirements
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant training program.
- Current and valid CNA certification/license as required by the state of employment.
- Basic understanding of patient care techniques and infection control standards.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Physical capability to perform duties including lifting, standing for extended periods, and assisting patients with mobility.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working as a CNA in a healthcare setting.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
- Additional training or certification in specialized care areas such as geriatrics or rehabilitation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well in a team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
- Measure and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure accurately.
- Help patients move safely by assisting with ambulation, transfers, and positioning to prevent falls and injuries.
- Observe and report any changes in patients’ physical or emotional condition to nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control protocols and facility policies.
- Support nursing staff with basic clinical tasks and documentation as required.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients, respecting their privacy and individuality.
