About The Position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) plays a critical role in delivering compassionate and high-quality care to patients within healthcare and social assistance settings. Requirements

  • Current and valid CNA certification in Texas.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved nurse assistant training program.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain upon hire.
  • Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.
  • The CNA utilizes strong interpersonal skills daily to build trust and rapport with patients, ensuring their emotional and physical needs are met with empathy and respect.
  • Attention to detail is critical when monitoring vital signs and observing changes in patient conditions, enabling timely communication with the healthcare team.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity are essential for assisting patients with mobility and personal care tasks safely and effectively.
  • Effective communication skills facilitate collaboration with nurses, doctors, and family members to provide coordinated care.
  • Additionally, familiarity with healthcare protocols and documentation practices supports accurate record-keeping and compliance with regulatory standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a hospital, nursing home, or long-term care facility.
  • Additional certifications such as CPR or first aid.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills developed through prior healthcare experience.
  • Bilingual abilities to support diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and feeding.
  • Monitor and record vital signs such as temperature, pulse, respiration, and blood pressure, reporting any abnormalities to nursing staff.
  • Provide mobility assistance, including helping patients move safely within their environment and supporting physical therapy exercises as directed.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients by following infection control protocols and hospital policies.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated and compassionate care.
