Job Summary : We are looking for a skilled and motivated Scrub Tech to join our dynamic team at our fast-paced ophthalmology surgery center. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that surgical procedures run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a strong focus on patient care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent; certification in surgical technology preferred.
Previous experience as a Scrub Tech, preferably in an ophthalmology or surgical setting preferred.
Strong understanding of surgical instrumentation and sterile technique.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work cohesively with the surgical team.
Ability to perform well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while ensuring attention to detail.

Responsibilities

Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment before procedures, ensuring all supplies are sterile and readily available.
Assist the surgical team by providing direct support during ophthalmic surgeries, including passing instruments and maintaining a sterile field.
Monitor the cleanliness and organization of the surgical area, adhering to strict infection control practices.
Anticipate the needs of the surgeons and the surgical team, adapting quickly to changing circumstances during procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation of surgical instruments and equipment used during each procedure.
Participate in inventory management, including tracking stock levels and replenishing supplies as needed.
Assist with the training and orientation of new staff members and interns in scrubbing techniques and protocols.
Collaborate effectively with the nursing and surgical teams to ensure optimal patient care and safety.
