About The Position

MaineGeneral is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our Perianesthesia Unit at the Alfond Center for Health. Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Location: Alfond Center for Health, Augusta Schedule: Part-time (24 hours/week) Monday - Thursday Shift: Evenings (2:30p - 9p) Your Role: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – Perianesthesia As a CNA in Perianesthesia, you will provide essential patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, supporting patients before and after surgical and procedural interventions. You will assist with monitoring, comfort measures, hygiene, mobility, and timely communication of patient needs or status changes to the clinical team. In this fast-paced procedural environment, you’ll play a key role in ensuring patient safety, comfort, and dignity while upholding the mission, values, and standards of MaineGeneral Health.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification is required.
Strong understanding of post-operative care and monitoring.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Compassionate and patient-focused with a strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in PACU, surgical, or acute care setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs basic patient care activities within the scope of practice.
Assists patients with meeting their emotional, physical, and spiritual needs.
Greets patients and visitors.
Answers, screens, and routes telephone calls.
Calls codes, pages, and overhead announcements as requested.
Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to the nursing staff.
Assists with keeping unit and patient rooms stocked, clean, and orderly.
