About The Position

Washington Regional Medical System is a community-owned, locally governed, non-profit health care system located in Northwest Arkansas in the heart of Fayetteville. The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) reports to the Nurse Supervisor and is responsible for providing direct patient care in the Hospice Home or during home visits, completing all regulatory requirements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED and Certified Nursing Assistant program, required.
• Certified Nursing Assistant, required.
• CPR certification, required.
• Valid driver's license and auto liability insurance, required.
• Fingerprints every 5 years, required.
• Minimum of one year of CNA experience, preferred.
• Previous experience in a hospice setting, preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patients condition at each visit and chart observations into the electronic medical record.
• Communicate and comfort the patient and patients family regarding death and grief concerns.
• Provide thorough education for patient and family on proper home health care procedures.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary members of the patients care team.
• Assist patient with personal hygiene and basic care needs in a timely and safe manner.
• Identify and relay pain and change in condition/safety concerns to appropriate case manager.
• Recommend resources that may improve the quality of life for the patient and assist patient in maintaining their independence as it relates to CNA standards and responsibilities.
