About The Position

The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) provides basic resident care under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse. Utilizing a resident-centered approach, the CNA assists with personal care and activities of daily living, ensuring the highest degree of quality of care is maintained at all times. Responsibilities include bathing, dressing, and grooming residents, assisting with mobility and transportation, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining cleanliness in resident areas.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in the medical field preferred.
  • Knowledge of customer service principles and processes.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and co-workers.
  • Knowledge of patient rights and relevant laws such as HIPAA.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant Iowa Direct Care Worker Registry required upon hire.
  • Dependent Adult Abuse Mandatory Reporter certification required within 180 days.
  • Emergency First Responder Choking certification required within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, and grooming residents.
  • Assist residents with mobility and transportation.
  • Monitor and document vital signs and changes in resident conditions.
  • Assist with end-of-life care and postmortem care.
  • Serve meals and assist residents with eating as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident rooms and common areas.
  • Participate in planning and assisting with resident activities.
  • Ensure safety and comfort of residents at all times.
