About The Position
Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center; named for two Medal of Honor recipients – Colonel Van Barfoot and Colonel Carl Sitter – provides the gold standard in quality care for Virginia’s Veterans. This single-level facility features 200 single-occupancy rooms across four nursing units. Sitter & Barfoot Veterans Care Center (SBVCC) is recruiting for a Certified Nurse Aide.
Requirements
- Current Virginia Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) license.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of personal care needs and activities of daily living (ADL’s).
- Physical ability to turn, bend and lift non-ambulatory adult patients without restrictions.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a long-term care or adult geriatric setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with meals and escorts residents to the dining hall.
- Make rounds regularly, answer call lights promptly and respond courteously.
- Complete all required paperwork/computerized documentation for charting assessments.
- Provide each resident the necessary care in accordance with his/her plan of care and ADL record.
- Monitor and observe residents’ physical, mental, and emotional status, and report changes to Charge Nurse.
