Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital provides inpatient rehabilitation services for patients recovering from strokes, brain or spinal-cord injuries, amputations, multiple traumas, cancer, complex orthopedic injuries and other conditions. The greatest feature of our rehab hospital is our dedicated team of clinicians. These rehab professionals provide the exceptional patient care for which Mercy is known, with an emphasis on improving individual functional ability and quality of life. Located off S. Southwood Rd in Springfield, Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital is one of the few rehabilitation hospitals in Missouri accredited by The Joint Commission (TJC) as well as the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) for inpatient rehabilitation.

Requirements

• CPR/BLS required
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant
• Completion of a nursing assistant training course

Nice To Haves

• Six months of experience working in a healthcare setting.
• Someone who demonstrates strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Who can prioritize and multitask in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provides general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assists with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Takes and records temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
• Prepares patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintains a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Supports patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answers patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
