About The Position
Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas is a Joint Commission–accredited hospital serving south-central Tennessee with locations in Winchester and Sewanee. The Certified Nurse Aide (CNA/Aide) assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care, and supports a safe and clean patient environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. The CNA/Aide appropriately communicates changes in patient condition to the RN or LPN and works collaboratively with the healthcare team to provide quality patient care. This is a full-time position supporting the Rehabilitation unit.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Ability to function effectively in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
- Current and active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license for the State of Tennessee
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living
- Provide basic patient care as directed by licensed nursing staff
- Observe and report changes in patient condition to the RN/LPN
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized patient care environment
- Work effectively with nursing and interdisciplinary teams
- Provide care in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment
