About The Position

Memorial Community Health, Inc. is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) for its long-term care unit. This night shift position requires working every other weekend. Certified Nurse Aides are responsible for supporting the nursing staff by performing routine tasks to meet the daily physical and psychological needs of residents. This is done under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, following the resident's assessment and care plan. The role also involves assisting with tasks necessary for the general management and organization of the nursing unit, requiring flexibility to meet resident or unit needs.

Requirements

  • Current CNA certificate with the State of Nebraska
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous CNA experience

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process, for the performance of resident care, to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate resident care to achieve prioritized resident outcomes within the scope of a CNA.
  • Observes the resident at regular intervals, answers lights promptly, and informs the charge nurse of resident observations/symptoms.
  • Admits, dismisses and transfers residents as directed by Charge Nurse.
  • Assists in setting priorities when delivering nursing care.
  • Performs emergency treatment as required in accordance within a CNA scope of practice.
  • Promotes and ensures resident and staff safety in all aspects of responsibilities.
  • Performs and maintains documentation.
  • Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients’ medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records is maintained.
  • Complies, understands, and enforces state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of Memorial Community Health operations and requirements, including but not limited to HIPAA, the Code of Conduct, the Compliance Policy, Safety and Infection Control, all department and organization-wide policies, and Federal and State of Nebraska regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
