More about our team TCU is a 30-bed short-term skilled hospital-based rehab unit at MMC. Patients receive daily nursing care and a minimum of two hours/day of PT, OT, & SLP.TCU has 24 patient rooms, 18 private and 6 semi-private. Patients come for 10-12 days to recover, get stronger, and go home. Patients come to rehab at TCU for post-op care, wound care, teaching/training for new diagnoses, IV therapy, pain & chronic illness management.

Requirements

  • Current state CNA license
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • All staff must maintain active BLS (Basic Life Support CPR and AED training)

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of acute care or one-year long-term care preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reports all pertinent observations and concerns to Charge Nurse/RN. Observations may include resident’s physical appearance, attitude, response to medications and treatments and appetite.
  • Provides direct resident care as directed by the RN including all activities of daily living such as bathing, feeding, transporting, toileting, ambulating residents, assists in admission, discharge and transfer of residents, applies and monitors alarms, delivers resident nourishment, fills water pitchers and distributes mail, resident weights, vital signs, and intakes and outputs.
  • Maintains an environment conducive to resident safety and recovery including but not limited to completing safety checks, keeping the department and resident rooms clean and organized, cleaning department specific equipment, changing bed linens, emptying linen hampers, keeping hallways clear of equipment and returning equipment and complying with safety policies and procedures including standard precautions.
  • Assists in admission, discharge, and transfer of residents.
  • Documents all relevant information (ie. Vital signs) on appropriate forms.
