About Us Ascension Saint Thomas Rehabilitation Hospital is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital dedicated to the treatment and recovery of those who have experienced serious injury, trauma or illness. Our care plans are designed for patients who are medically stable but need intensive therapy before returning home or to a lower level of care. Common conditions treated include brain injury, spinal cord injury, orthopedic injuries and joint replacements, and amputation.

Requirements

  • Completion of a nursing assistant training course
  • Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant
  • CPR/BLCS Certification
  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months+ of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Providing daily living care to the patients
  • Assisting in the preparation of admissions, transfers, and discharge of patients
  • Answering call lights in a timely manner
  • Demonstrating the ability to revise plan of care as indicated by the patient’s response to treatment and evaluate overall plan daily
  • Obtaining and recording temperature, pulse, respirations, blood pressure, weight, etc.
  • Making rounds with oncoming shift to ensure the unit is left in good condition
  • Integrating the plan of care with Rehabilitation Services treatment plan to attain patient’s optimal level of functioning
