How You’ll Contribute: The Certified Nurse Aide, assists with patient care throughout nursing areas under the direction of licensed personnel. In the execution of job duties, it is the universal expectation that all tasks are performed with a patient centered focus, while also seeking opportunities to continually improve core processes. Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. Essential Functions: Assists patient with activities of daily living (ADLs) and documents accordingly. Assists patient with feeding and/or meals as assigned and documents accordingly. Assists patient with elimination needs as is appropriate and documents accordingly. Answers alarm pendants and responds to residents'/patients’ needs appropriately and promptly. Collects and documents patient information as needed (including weights and vital signs). Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental, and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Provides restorative care per plan of care. Documents accordingly. Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked, clean and orderly. Changes linens of occupied / unoccupied beds. Demonstrates proper infection control practice and adheres to Infection Control Policies and Procedures and OSHA standards. Operates all equipment and performs all procedures/care in a safe manner. Reports faulty and/or dangerous equipment as necessary Assists in discharge process of patients to include: transport, packing of personal belongings, and assistance with hygiene needs as requested. Provides for safe transport of patients through the institution. Appropriate measures are taken to escort patients into and out of the facility. Assists with postmortem care. Non-Essential Functions Assists with orientation and training of others as directed.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • License / Certifications: Certified Nursing Assistant in state of practice
  • BLS required
  • Handle with Care preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
