Under minimal supervision performs advanced Neurodiagnostic procedures to evaluate the functioning of the central, peripheral and autonomic nervous systems. Testing procedures may include: Multi-modality Intraoperative Neurophysiologic Monitoring (IONM), Long Term Monitoring in Epilepsy (LTME), EEG, Evoked Potential, Nerve Conduction Velocity (NCV), Autonomic Function Tests (AFT) and Transcranial Doppler (TCD) recordings. Testing may be performed in the Neurodiagnostic Labs, operating rooms, Epilepsy Monitoring Unit, patient bed side and other specialized patient care areas. Changing the Future of the Neurodiagnostic Lab Department: The Neurodiagnostic Lab Department at SHC is renowned for its premier program in intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring (IONM), which was one of the first to obtain formal accreditation nationwide. The comprehensive clinical service is very active, led by a dedicated team of neurologists and technologists that assist in a wide diversity of surgeries for both pediatric and adult populations. Our specialty-trained technologists and board-certified neurologists perform Intraoperative Neuromonitoring (IONM) using a variety of neurophysiologic techniques, including EEG (electroencephalogram), SSEPs (somatosensory evoked potentials), EMG (electromyography), and transcranial motor evoked potentials (tcMEPs)testing. Be Part of a Tight Knit Team: Our IONM team is tight knit, collaborative and supportive. Technologists that are specially trained in IONM work with fellowship-trained neurologists on-site to provide clinical services for a diversity of surgical cases. The IONM department allows staff the ability to learn a wide variety of procedures and techniques to monitor including: • EEG (electroencephalogram) • SSEP (somatosensory evoked potentials) • tcMEP (transcranial motor evoked potentials) • BAEP (brainstem auditory evoked potentials) • EMG (electromyography) • NAP (nerve action potential) • Direct cortical stimulation • Direct subcortical stimulation • Awake testing Opportunities to Grow: Allied Health professionals in our Neurodiagnostic Lab Department have access to: • Physician Case reviews • Journal Club • Weekly Neuroscience conferences This is a Stanford Health Care job.
