About The Position

All wages are commensurate with the years of experience. Shifts: In general we offer 12 hour shifts for our CMT positions on both the Assisted Living side and Skilled Nursing side. This position will be cross-trained to both areas and can expect to be utilized in both areas. We have openings for full-time (30+ hours weekly). The recurring 2 week schedule template we are hiring for has rotating weekend shifts. Role: We are seeking a dedicated Certified Medication Tech (CNA/CMT) to join our team! The Certified Medication Tech is responsible for passing medication under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse and to provide direct, hands-on care to residents.

Requirements

  • The Certified Medication Tech must have completed an approved training program and passed competency examinations in clinical skills and written knowledge to obtain certification as both a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Medication Technician (CMT).

Nice To Haves

  • Having the certification for Insulin Administration is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, passes medication and provides treatments according to physician’s orders and in accordance with facility policy.
  • Reports changes in resident’s condition immediately to the Charge Nurse.
  • Reviews Tenant Service Plans as needed to gain and maintain a familiarity with tenant service needs and preferences.
  • Reviews the Staff 24-Hour Communication log and corresponding Tenant Service Notes on a daily basis for information about changes in tenant service needs and/or health conditions.
  • Provides personal services to tenants as assigned and as indicated on Tenant Service Plans.
  • Assists tenants with medications and/or treatments as assigned and allowed by regulation.
  • Responds to calls from the emergency call system in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and follows infection control procedures.
  • Assists in the dining room during meal times
  • Assists in maintaining a clean, comfortable, and safe environment by providing housekeeping services as needed.
  • Assists with individual tenant and group social/recreational activities as requested; encourages tenant participation in activities.
  • Monitors for changes in tenant needs, preferences, and/or health status, and reports/documents any changes according to established procedures.
  • Responds to emergencies in an appropriate manner as per training received.
