About The Position

PrimeCare Medical, Inc. (i.e., PCM) is a privately owned, physician founded, nationally accredited correctional healthcare practice. We are actively recruiting for a Full-Time Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to work in the medical department at the Washington County Detention Center in Hagerstown, MD. This full time position is 36 hours per week. Shift hours are 7:00a-7:30p with every other weekend rotation.

Requirements

  • Must have completed an approved Certified Medication Technician program.
  • Currently hold a Medication Technician Certification valid in the state where the facility is located.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective communication skills
  • Pleasant telephone manner
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions
  • Working knowledge of office equipment and medical equipment
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Can work effectively in a lock facility

Responsibilities

  • Initial intake screening on new receptions
  • Taking vital signs and completing all appropriate intake forms
  • Preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas for the facility
  • Performing daily medication passes.
  • Maintaining medication records
  • Typing of various reports, letters, and memoranda
  • Answering telephone and process calls
  • Maintaining the filing system and confidentiality of information at all times
  • Following universal precautions at all times
  • Maintaining a pleasant working attitude
  • Any/all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or delegated

Benefits

  • Hourly Base Rate is $19.50 and we offer Shift Differential in addition.

  • Generous PTO package provided. Paid time off will accrue for a maximum accrual of nine (9) days (or 72 hours) per year. In addition, you will also receive six (6) floating holidays, pro-rated within your first year of employment as dictated by your effective hire date. You are also eligible to accrue sick and safe leave benefits under Maryland’s Healthy Working Families Act (i.e., MDSSL). MDSSL accrues at a rate of one (1) hour for every thirty (30) hours of straight time worked, for a maximum annual accrual of sixty-four (64) hours.
  • Additional Compensation: In addition to the hourly pay rate PrimeCare Medical also offers Overtime Pay, Shift Differential and Weekend Differential compensation, Premium Holiday Pay, and Employee Referral Bonus opportunities.
