About The Position
Cascades at Galveston is a fantastic skilled nursing facility located in Galveston, TX. We are expanding our nursing team, and we are excited that you've considered us. If you want a supportive team beside you, grateful residents around you, and a place to grow as a CMA - you've found it! We are currently hiring full-time CMA to join our amazing team for afternoons (2PM-10PM). In addition, our CMAs can participate in our Nursing Tuition Reimbursement Program and get $500/month applied towards an LVN or RN degree. SNF nurses care for geriatric patients who require 24/7 care.
Requirements
- Current Texas CMA certification in good standing
- Effective communication skills
- Willingness to learn local, state, and federal laws/regulations in regards to long-term care
Responsibilities
- Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to patients
- Coordinate with different nurses to assist with patient care and medications
- Follow written or verbal instructions on how to manage medications
- Record medication dosages and times
- Observe patients and document changes in their condition
- Gather samples for analysis
- Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned
- Uphold all health and safety standards
- Respond to patient emergency call signals, bells, or intercom systems to identify patient needs
