About The Position
The Certified Medication Aide (CMA) plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare team by safely administering medications to residents in long-term care settings. This position ensures that all medication administration complies with established protocols and regulatory standards, thereby promoting resident health and well-being. The CMA collaborates closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to monitor residents for medication effectiveness and potential side effects. Requirements
- Current certification as a Medication Aide in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program.
- Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and long-term care practices.
- Ability to pass a background check and meet health screening requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience working in a long-term care or skilled nursing facility.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for medication documentation.
- Additional certifications related to geriatric care or patient safety.

Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to residents according to established care plans and regulatory guidelines.
- Monitor residents for adverse reactions or side effects and report any concerns to nursing staff promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medication records and documentation in compliance with facility policies.
- Assist with the preparation and organization of medication carts and supplies to ensure efficient medication delivery.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to support resident care and medication adherence.
