This role involves verifying resident identity, recording medication details, administering medication, observing resident responses, taking vital signs, and responding to resident needs.

Requirements

• Must have a current, valid CNA certification in good standing
• Must have current Medication Aide certification in good standing

Responsibilities

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage and time of administration on specified forms or records
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application or administers medication using specified procedures
• Takes vital signs or observes residents to detect response to specified types of medications and prepares report or notifies designated personnel of unexpected reactions
• Takes and records temperatures, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates and food and fluid intake and output as directed
• Answers signal lights, bells or intercom system to determine resident needs
• Other duties as assigned
