Under the supervision of a Licensed Nurse, the Certified Medication Aide (CMA) prepares and administers medications and performs duties consistent with those of a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Prepare, administer, and document medications in accordance with accepted practices, policies, and regulatory requirements under the direction and supervision of a Licensed Nurse. Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, toileting, changing bed linens, and positioning in and out of beds or chairs; support resident recreational activities; prepare residents for meals and snacks; assist with feeding as needed; and accurately record food and fluid intake. Review and follow daily care plans; perform assigned restorative and rehabilitative procedures; monitor, measure, and record vital signs; promptly report changes in resident conditions to the nurse in charge; document care provided on resident records and flow sheets; and report accidents and incidents per policy. Adhere to all safety, infection control, and sanitation policies and promptly report any violations or concerns to a supervisor. Attend orientation and required in-service training in compliance with state regulations. Understand, comply with, and actively promote residents’ rights at all times. Foster positive relationships with residents, families, visitors, and regulatory representatives by maintaining a professional appearance, attitude, and conduct. Assist with the admission, transfer, and discharge of residents as assigned. Participate in staff meetings, training, and educational activities; assist with the orientation and training of new staff members. Perform other duties as assigned.
