About The Position

Texas Oncology - Houston, part of the Gulf Coast Region, is seeking a full-time, team-oriented Certified Medical Physicist (Ph.D. or M.S.) to join our team. We are open to hiring an upcoming 2026 Physics Resident graduate and holding the position until their July 1, 2026 graduation date or an early date if available. Texas Oncology has more than 220 sites of service throughout Texas, with more than 600+ providers. Requirements

  • Master's degree or PhD in Physics or Medical Physics from an accredited college or university.
  • ABR certified, or have completed a CAMPEP approved residency and be board eligible.
  • Working experience in a clinical environment.
  • Texas Medical Board license required or must be obtained.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the design optimization, technical evaluation, and precise and accurate delivery of radiation treatment plans.
  • Responsible for the safety of patients and staff.
  • May participate in clinical, research, and educational duties.
  • Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
  • Provides full range of on-site clinical medical physics support including HDR support.
  • Occasionally travel to sites within the region for on-site physics support.
  • Determines the need for, specifies, and accesses dosimetric and treatment planning equipment.
  • Advises and consults with physicians to provide advice or direction to technical staff when patients are being planned or treated.
