About The Position

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking a detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder responsible for reviewing clinical documentation and accurately assigning ICD-10-CM, CPT, and modifier codes. This role supports billing, compliance, reporting, and research activities while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and coding guidelines.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 2 years of outpatient coding experience (E/M coding required)
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding guidelines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability
  • Ability to work independently in a hybrid environment
  • Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
  • Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT)
  • Certified Medical Coder (CMC)
  • Certified Coding Associate (CCA)

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Experience in Neurosurgery or Neurology coding preferred
  • At least 6 months of HCC coding experience preferred
  • Familiarity with EPIC EMR systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and modifier codes for outpatient encounters
  • Review clinical documentation and diagnostic results to ensure coding accuracy
  • Apply coding guidelines in compliance with official standards and regulations
  • Utilize knowledge of APC reimbursement methodologies
  • Abstract and enter required data into coding systems
  • Ensure adherence to organizational policies and compliance standards
  • Communicate with providers and clinical staff for documentation clarification (query process)
  • Provide guidance and support on coding-related issues
  • Maintain productivity and quality standards within timelines
  • Support team development and mentor junior coders when needed
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development
  • Ensure data integrity and patient confidentiality
